[30 mins] Using the handout over contextual analysis, analyze the painting by Caravaggio. Caravaggio painted this in 1600–04. Explain possible religious, political, or social issues associated with the work and use some of the questions listed in the handout. Type the contextual analysis using the following guidelines. Submit the analysis to a drop box set up for this assignment on March 23 by 9 AM.

Write a paragraph for each major area of questions listed in the handout. For example, a paragraph should be written answering “creation, use, and viewing of artwork”, another paragraph answering “addressing the physical work of art”, and finally another paragraph answering “larger social issues presented by the work of art”.
