Out of the six categories it was hard for me to pin point to just one, but I suppose it would be creator more than the others. I like to share a lot of content on social media, but my favorite part is having a conversation or debate about one of the articles. On the other hand, some I share just for laughs. My friends always make fun of me because we could be having a great time and I will find an article with shocking news and I always have to share it or bring it up that I saw it. Not on purpose, but I just like having conversations about factual reports, such as the tornado in Nashville, we are suppose to go down there at the end of April and now we may have to rethink it. My main thing I use social media for though, is to help promote my friends local businesses or my brothers podcast. I do not care what the business may be, I share some that make their own pasta sauce that they finally put on the market, some for fixing garage doors or doing fake eyelash extensions at their salon, I share it all. I also use social media to just keep in contact with my friends and family. I recently made a group for my mom friends so we can all just post when we are planning on doing something and see if anyone would like to join, to also help other mom friends make new friends. My Snapchat account is really just for my 5 girlfriends and I keep in touch because we all have husbands, fiances, boyfriends and kids that keep us busy, on top of our careers and daily life tasks. I do not really use Instagram too much, unless it is the summertime and then I will post our summer photos, most of the time I just browse the app and look at my friends posts.

As a brand it is most important to keep posting relevant posts, eye catching statuses and promotions, but nothing that takes up too much time to read. From personal experience if I have to read a paragraph to discover when you are promoting or giving away as a discount, I will more than likely just keep on scrolling past your post. It would be very beneficial though to post eye catching posts such as a contrast of sizes or colors, but nothing that is too messy to get the point of your post. For example, if I am scrolling and see a sponsored ad with a brightly colored background and a food dish, I will usually stop and check it out, whether it is a local restaurant advertising a new dish or lunch/dinner special or a food delivery service. These would all be great pointers for my brand to use. As I control my companies social media, I have also learned that using less text, especially on top of an image, will also help more than a paragraph and single image. You want to make your posts short and sweet to keep consumers interested. Another recommendation for my brand is to have interacting posts, such as post a question as the status so consumers comment their answers or a “like” for this and “share” for this type of status. All of these will be great pointers for my brand to reach their consumers on social media.

One thing I know I do on social media is that I use different platforms for different things. On Twitter I’m much more of a critic on social media. This is because on Twitter I tend to only follow and keep up with my Disney friends, and people that post about Disney. On Twitter we go over the new happenings rather it be food, rides, or even events and this gives us a place to talk about it with each other. Then on Instagram I am much more of a creator. The reason I am a creator on Instagram is because I talk about getting healthy, losing weight, and sharing recipes. I use Instagram as a platform to help keep myself motivated and accountable for my health goals, but also to help inspire others to reach their health goals as well. Lastly I use Facebook as a collector. I believe this because it’s one way I get information from my family and friends. This is also a way that I receive a lot of my news; keep up with happenings with my favorite sports teams, and even here about new products from my favorite companies. I believe that social media is a great tool that can be used to help someone reach their goals, or even just keep up with their own friends and family. Social media can be used for pretty much whatever an individual person wants it to be used for.

I believe that my brand Kroger could use social media in a couple of different ways to help them connect with their customers. Kroger could use social media to help spread deals that they are having, and even to help them spread coupons. Kroger could also use social media as a tool to help in understanding their customer satisfaction with their products and their customer service. They can monitor their brand name and hashtags to see what people are saying about their own company to help understand anything they may need to fix to help secure brand loyalty. Kroger can also use social media to help keep track on what their competitors are doing also. Kroger can also run different ads on social media platforms, and even run commercials on some social media platforms. Social media marketing is the way of the future and it is defiantly something every company must understand how to manage if they want to stay relevant in today’s day and age.
