1) Watch video – “I will be a hummingbird” – What is the message given in the story?
2) After you read chapter 1 (sections 1.3-1.5 and p.15 you will make a list of 5 things you do in your everyday life that you consider to be sustainable and another list of 5 unsustainable daily activities.
After you complete your lists go to the following website http://www.footprintcalculator.org/ and complete the ecological footprint interactive quiz. After you receive the results you will need to analyze and identify what factors are increasing your footprint and then identify what you can do in your daily life to decrease your impact on the environment.
Post your ecological footprint result and analysis on the discussion forum by Tuesday Feb 11 at 11:59PM. Reply to a minimum of 2 classmates and engage in in-depth discussions. Replies due by Thursday Feb 13 at 11:59PM.
